Bureau of Land Management Technical Support Services

Technical Support Services to the Bureau of Land Management and other Department of Interior (DOI) Bureaus/Offices, Indian Tribal Field Offices, and the Forest Service.

Technical support services are provided to support resource management activities. JCWS is a subcontractor to Remtech Services, Inc. Johnson Controls World Services provides technical support services in GIS and remote sensing through system review, testing, troubleshooting, and identifying system requirements; data base development,; and training. At the Denver Federal Center, JCWS provides assistance to the Bureau of Land Management for the Colorado Vegetation Classification Project. This project is a cooperative interagency venture using LANDSAT TM imagery for developing a vegetation data set for the State of Colorado. Mapping is irrespective of individual group or agency boundaries, instead produced form watershed boundaries delineated across Colorado. JCWS produces the maps using the TM imagery that is processed and analyzed using ERDAS and ARC/INFO.
