
Professional/Technical Support Services for U.S. Geological Survey, Western Region, Sacramento, CA
Technical support services are provided to support natural resource activities conducted by the BRD for five science centers. The centers are: Alaska Science Biological Center (Anchorage, AK), Western Fisheries Research Center (Seattle, WA), Forest and Rangeland Ecosystems Science Center (Corvallis, OR), Western Ecological Research Center (Sacramento, CA), and Pacific Islands Ecosystems Research Center (Honolulu, HI). IAPWS provides the following services: administrative and management support; basic and applied research on fish and wildlife resources, habitats, and their ecosystems; information management; cartographic, mapping and data base development; computer systems administration, operations and maintenance; and ADP systems - data base management system, geographic information systems, remote sensing, image processing, hardware and software systems, and local and wide area networks. Services are provided on a fixed price and labor hours task order basis.
At the Klamath Falls Duty Station in Klamath Falls, OR,
IAPWS supports research on endangered sucker fish. The work involves field data collections on rivers and lakes (biological and water quality), analysis, GIS and technical report preparation.
